Arizona congressman Raul Grijalva endorses Bernie Sanders

Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders just received his first congressional endorsement this week: Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva.

The liberal Democrat will announce his support for Bernie’s presidential bid during a rally in Tucson on Friday. Grijalva, a liberal Democrat serving his seventh term representing a southern Arizona district including Tucson, is co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which Sanders — a self-described Democratic socialist — helped cofound as a House member in 1991.

Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton has racked up more than 100 endorsements from Democratic members of Congress since she announced in April but as Sanders’ campaign picks up more steam and he looks even more electable to them, some of that support is likely to fade as the politicians begin to consider their own future.
