Bernie Sanders visited by Portland Bird

In an almost dream like moment, at a rally in Portland Oregon today, a tiny bird decided to visit Bernie Sanders at the podium. Bernie, being the gentlemen he is, politely waited with a loving gaze until the fearless flyer took off to it’s next destination.

Being the #1 leader on climate change, it was fitting that nature decided to grace Bernie’s presence a day before the vote in Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska. One can’t be sure exactly how large of a margin he will win by tomorrow. However one thing is for sure. The universe seems to be rooting for Bernie Sanders.

    n our increasingly crass and inhumane politics, Bernie is our Jewish Saint Francis of Assisi (the patron saint of animals & the environment). And in more ways than just this one.
    Francis’ devotion was expressed through his love for all of God’s creation, as he cared for the poor and sick,  preached sermons to animals, and praised ALL creatures as brothers and sisters under God. His beliefs and works are summarized in the prayer below. Even if you’re a different religion, or no religion at all, it’s worth reading, and taking to heart:
    Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    where there is injury,pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
    and where there is sadness, joy.
    O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
    to be consoled as to console;
    to be understood as to understand;
    to be loved as to love.
    For it is in giving that we receive;
    it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
    and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
