CNN Podium Order

In a complete shocker(sarcasm emphasized) CNN announced today they’ll be placing Hillary Clinton in the center of the stage for Tuesday night’s much anticipated Democratic Debate. Flanked to either side by Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley, Clinton was awarded what is probably, at least sub-consciously in the minds of the viewers, the best spot on the stage. CNN claims the stage position was based on her polling numbers. Remember their bizarre polling numbers that they(CNN) recently came up with? That’s what they used to determine position on the stage.

This move really isn’t all that shocking when you consider the lengths that the DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has went to in an attempt to keep the public from learning more about Bernie Sanders. Just the fact that there are only 6 debates has been a huge red flag among supporters in Bernie’s camp and people on the outside that wonder how less debates could actual be helpful. In a real head-scratcher, Schultz has maintained that not having the candidates out in front of millions and millions of viewers for 20-plus debates will some how help them.

The bizarre move has created a movement within a movement to get her removed as Chair of the DNC. Petitions have circulated, Facebook Groups and pages were created and websites built. Her close ties to Hillary Clinton only add fuel to the flames, with many asserting that she is helping her floundering old friend by keeping her out of the public eye as much as possible. It’s an almost given that popular Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will make Clinton feel the bern in a head to head match-up, so limiting Clinton’s exposure to that, on the surface seems like it would be helpful. But we maintain that this dirty political strategy will ultimately fail.

It was also recently announced that the debate starting time was moved from 6:00 p.m. Pacific time to 5:30 p.m. Pacific time – a move that most certainly will hurt viewership, as many on the West Coast will still be on their way home from work. The question remains as to whether Debbie and Hillary had anything to do with stage position and the earlier starting time. Oh yeah, there’s also been some questions raised about who was invited to Tuesday’s Debate. We’ve seen a lot of complaints that tickets were not available and that invites were sent mostly to Hillary supporters but due to the secretive nature in which the DNC has operated for this election cycle, that wouldn’t exactly be a shocking revelation either.

CNN also announced that if Joe Biden decided to make up his freakin’ mind before Tuesday, that he’ll be on stage as well. Apparently they will bring out another podium with his name on it. Not sure of the position for that one though.

The truth of the matter is that Bernie Sanders will win this debate even if he has to do it from aisle 17, row 24, seat 11 of the Wynn in Las Vegas.
