Don’t Vote for the Trolls: Clinton Super PAC Attacks Bernie Sanders Groups Online

After months of whining about alleged “Bernie Bros,” the Clinton camp has revealed its true colors by unleashing hordes of paid online trolls to shut down Bernie Sanders groups on social media.  The trolls, operating under the pro-Clinton super PAC Correct the Record, allegedly got several Bernie Sanders groups temporarily removed from Facebook and Reddit by falsely reporting that said groups were violating various rules, such as being pornographic in nature.  This is bad enough, but it is especially troubling since it occurred the night before five states’ Democratic primaries.

Has the mainstream media taken notice?  No.  However, had the roles been reversed, I’m absolutely certain the mainstream media would be loudly condemning any pro-Sanders super PAC that tried to wreak digital havoc on Hillary Clinton social media pages.  Headlines would be protesting the super PAC’s ham-handed attempts to hinder democracy and thwart political engagement.  Talking heads would be demanding that Bernie Sanders immediately condemn the action of his allied group.

Yet, because the attacks came from Clinton’s camp, her media lapdogs have uttered nary a peep.  David Brock, the mastermind of this cyber sabotage, has not been condemned.  If it ever does become an issue, I have no doubt that Hillary Clinton will attempt to wave away criticism by claiming that she had no knowledge of the situation.  This, obviously, would be a lie.

Birds of a feather flock together, and the fact that Hillary Clinton maintains close ties with a loathsome online troll-master is an alarming indication of her true beliefs.  She does not believe in political fair play and cares little for open and honest democracy.  She has been rather mute on the voter suppression that occurred in Arizona and New York.

After the voter fraud in Arizona, Clinton only jumped on board with condemnations long after she handily won the state.  And where is Clinton on the voter suppression in New York?  She’s keeping quiet about it.  I guess tainted democracy isn’t a big problem if you’re the one who’s winning, right?

Hillary Clinton’s indifference to voter disenfranchisement, also exemplified by her love of closed primaries, couples with her tolerance of David Brock’s cyber sabotage to reveal a callous, power-hungry presidential candidate.  Is this really who we want to see in the Oval Office?  Voters everywhere should know that a vote for Clinton is a vote for voter disenfranchisement, be it via corruption, negligence, or digital hijinks.  If you cast your ballot for Clinton this year, you will have no right to complain when, in future years, it turns out that you have become one of the voters “accidentally” purged from the system.

The callous actions of Hillary Clinton and her supporters are the exact things not to do when hoping to pick up additional supporters.  If the former Secretary of State ever had a chance to win me over in the absence of Bernie Sanders, it evaporated long ago.  Personally, I will only vote for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for president.  He alone fights for my right to vote and actively condemns voter suppression in the moment…not weeks later, when the dust has settled and his victory has been set in stone.  He wants to empower voters by ending closed primaries and allowing everyone to vote.  That is democracy.

A vote for Clinton is a vote for online trolls and voter suppression.  #NeverClinton  #BernieOrBust
