Thursday night on a Fox News town hall, Donald Trump revealed who he thought was the stronger candidate against him. He told the Fox News host that Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders would be a stronger candidate because Sanders has a base.
Trump later went on to expose a critical flaw with the Joe Biden campaign, especially in the rust belt, attacking Biden for supporting trade deals like NAFTA. While it’s rare that we agree with Trump, he’s not wrong here. Biden’s love affair with disastrous free-trade agreements is an achilles heel in states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Ohio and where these deals have cost several million jobs.
Trump does not have this argument against Sanders.
